Tata Motors has confirmed that it will launch the Tata Sierra EV in the Indian market. The company has announced that this SUV will be available in two versions, Electric (EV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). This means customers will get both petrol/diesel and EV options in the same SUV model.
The update was shared by Vivek Srivastava, who is the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Tata Motors. A reporter asked about the Tata Sierra. He said people saw it only at auto shows. He asked if it will come to the market. Mr. Srivastava said the company is working on it. He said it will come in electric and ICE versions.
Tata Sierra EV India Launch Timeline
Tata Motors has said that the Tata Sierra will launch in India by the end of this financial year. This means the car will come till the March 2026. Tata has not given the exact date of the launch yet.
Tata showed the first Sierra concept in Auto Expo 2020. After that, the new electric concept was shown in Auto Expo 2023. The company is now working on the final version for production.
CCO Vivek Srivastava said that both electric and petrol (ICE) versions will launch together. Tata will give more details like price, booking date, and features near the launch time.

This SUV will come in two versions, electric (EV) and petrol or diesel (ICE). The EV version will run on battery. It may give a range of 450 to 500 km in one charge. Fast charging support is also expected. Tata may give a lifetime battery warranty, just like it recently announced for its other EV cars. The car may have a touchscreen, digital display, sunroof, and connected features.

The Tata Sierra EV may cost between ₹22 lakh to ₹25 lakh . This will be a bigger and premium electric SUV from Tata. It will come above Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV. The petrol version may start from ₹18 lakh and go up to ₹22 lakh. Tata has not announced the final price yet, but this is the expected range based on other SUVs in the same segment.
The electric version of Tata Sierra will compete with cars like MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and BYD Atto 3. These electric SUVs are also in the same size and price range.
